What is PVA?

PVA stands for Polyvinyl Alcohol which has great film forming and adhesive properties. It is resistant to oil, grease and solvent. It has a high tensile strength and flexibility. It is odourless and nontoxic.

Uses of PVA in fishing?

PVA is widely used in fishing. It can come in several different forms PVA Mesh/stocking, PVA bags, PVA tape and PVA string. Small PVA bags can be filled with dry or oil based bait and then attached to the hook/line or the hook can be placed inside the bag along with the weight and bait. This can then be cast into the water either being a river or a lake. The PVA bag will then breakdown in the water and leave your hook surrounded by bait. This method helps to bait up your swim and attract the fish to your hook bait increasing your chance of catching a fish greatly.
